Before I use WordPress themes in my blog, work on CSS and design is necessary – font sizes, fonts or hyperlinks should be adjusted.
I prefer themes according to the following criteria:
- Simple in colour, but visually appealing.
- Fast charging time.
- Good integration of plugins.
- 2 or 3 columns.
- Clear structure.
- Hierarchical navigation must be possible.
Working in CSS
Does the font size fit? In some themes the font is simply too small.
Are links clearly recognizable? In many layouts it is often the case that links are not recognizable clearly enough. Basically I am a friend of new links are blue, visited links are dark red and all links are basically underlined. Some reworking is always necessary.
But you can also accept hyperlinks if they don’t meet quasi standards. It is important that links are recognized immediately and not confused.
Sometimes it’s little things that I don’t like a theme for… or also like it.
